I do not claim to be healthy at all lol. And maybe that is because I know people that are way healthier than I am.

But I am getting better on this little healthy journey.

Breakfast

So what do I eat for breakfast?(lets start there shall we)

I am a cereal addict. But I am no where near where I was when I was younger. I use to eat bowls of cereal in one day. Like huge mixing bowls y’all lol.

Now I mostly eat honey nut cheerios with 1% milk.

This is what you call growth guys! Because I started with whole milk and could never dream of ever drinking 1% milk but hey. Things change.

Lunch

For Lunch, I am trying to meal prep more but it mostly consists of Shrimp or Salmon.

So that can be Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables.

Shrimp Fried Rice

Shrimp Teriyaki

Brown Sugar Salmon with Mixed Vegetables

Shrimp Alfredo (with Spinach Pasta)

Spinach Salad with Shrimp

Dinner

*refer to the list of foods above*

but add more smoothies lol.

For my smoothies, I usually do a mixture of the following.

  • lots of spinach
  • frozen mixed fruit(bags from Walmart are cheap)
  • Granola
  • arugula
  • yogurt
  • Protein powder
  • almond milk
  • soy milk

Now I know some people may be cringing but I swear it’s not bad at all.

As you notice, I DO NOT add sugar at all nor do I add juice. I do it more for health and less for the flavor. Otherwise, I would be gulping down a Pepsi every day. I’m just trying to be great you guys.

 

So why all of the seafood for lunch and dinner one might ask.

Here’s why:

  1. For one! I’m from Baltimore duhhhh. I can eat seafood every day and love it!
  2. I gave up meat for about 90 days recently. So when I say meat, I’m excluding two things. Fish and Shrimp. So this forced me to think of a million things to eat that didn’t include chicken, beef, pork, etc.
  3. Well, I didn’t just eat seafood, I incorporated more vege’s in my diet and lots of water. I literally do not buy drinks at my house to much. It forces me to not drink soda or juices (like orange juice which is just a bottle of sugar anyway) *research is key*

So for those who are grammar junkies. I essentially became a pescetarian for a couple of months.

Did I lose Weight?

You damn right I did! lol

I lost 10 pounds in the first month which I loved because dropping baby weight is not easy at allll. So not only did I lose weight but my skin cleared up dramatically.

For the first time in my life, I felt more energized and less full as the days went by. I have never felt lighter in those first few months.

Any Caveats?

Omgosh yes. When I got to month 3, I started to feel exhausted which was so weird. I realized that I wasn’t taking in enough protein,   more especially since I cut meat out. So then I kind of forced myself to eat yogurt,more broccoli, and hummus. Along with more eggs. My energy levels soon increased and now I feel better than ever.
